An important decision was made regarding the Romanian referee Coltescu and Sovren, who made racist statements to Pierre Webo in the PSG-Başakşehir match played in the Champions League.
UEFA announced that the Romanian referees Coltescu and Sovre of the PSG-Başakşehir match, which was suspended for racist rhetoric, will be tried.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Sebastian Coltescu, who served as the 4th referee in the PSG-Başakşehir match, used the expression “Your horse is that Negro” for the Başakşehir assistant coach Pierre Webo in the 16th minute of the match and suddenly confused the field. Demba Ba, walking on Sebastian Coltescu after the incident, told the referee, “You never call it ‘this white man’, you call it ‘this man.’ Then why do you refer to Webo as ‘this black man’?” He reacted with his words. In his first defense against UEFA, the infamous referee tried to justify himself with the words “I said negro, not negro. In Romanian, it means negru, black man. I did not insult him”.
