In the Paralympic Swimming World Series held in Italy, national athletes Sümeyye Boyacı and Sevilay Öztürk competed in the 50-meter backstroke and 200-meter freestyle finals and took the podium together. Sümeyye Boyacı won the first gold medal with her time of 43.83, while Sevilay Öztürk came second with her time of 45.97 and won the silver medal.

With this result, Sümeyye improved her time of 44.74 in the 2019 World Championship in 0.91 seconds. The results of Sümeyye and Sevilay in this race were also evaluated in the junior category, and the national swimmers who took the first two places increased the number of medals to 4. In the final of the 200 meters freestyle youth category, Sümeyye Boyacı came in second with a time of 03.23.51 and Sevilay Öztürk was third with a time of 03.30.77.

GOLD MEDAL FROM BERKIN

Koral Berkin Kutlu, who competed in the 200m freestyle men’s final, won the silver medal with his time of 02.58.42. Berkin’s degree was also evaluated in the junior category, and our swimmer, the only athlete in this category, won a gold medal. The National Team thus won a total of 8 medals, 3 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze, on the first day of the series. The races in the organization will end tomorrow.
