Ajax, a Dutch League team, announced that goalkeeper Andre Onana was banned from all competitions by UEFA for 12 months for violating doping rules.

The club also stated that they will appeal the decision at CAS. If UEFA’s ban is approved, Onana will not be able to play in any matches of both the club and the national team for 1 year.

Ajax said in a statement that the football player may have had a banned substance in his sample because of a drug he used because he felt sick, and said, “On the morning of October 30, the patient was not feeling well. He wanted to take medicine. He unconsciously used a drug that was prescribed to his wife before,” he defended the Cameroonian elephant guard.
