Merlyn Partners acquired the French Premier League (Ligue 1) club Lille, owned by Luxembourg business man Gerard Lopez.

The Lille Club, which includes Turkish football players Yusuf Yazıcı, Zeki Çelik, Burak Yılmaz and Mustafa Kapı, changed hands.

According to the statement released on Lille’s website, ownership of the club has passed to Callisto Sporting, a company owned by Gerard Lopez’s Victory Soccer company, Merlyn Partners.

With the realization of the transfer, president Gerard Lopez and sports director Luis Campos were dismissed. It was stated that Marc Ingla would leave his senior management position, but he would continue to be a board member.

Olivier Letang, who was previously the sporting director of Paris Saint-Germain and president of Rennes, was appointed president of the club.
