Fagradals Volcano, located on the Reykjanes Peninsula near Iceland’s capital Reykjavik, became operational after 6 thousand years. As the volcano began to erupt lava after the first eruption, the lava covered an area of 1 square kilometer within a few hours. On the other hand, Iceland’s Prime Minister Katrin Jakobsdottir said in a statement he made on his social media account, “We want everyone to stay away from the volcano and to be safe”.
